Whilst browsing through the 18 December 1911 edition of The Star newspaper I stumbled across this article.

Thanks for that post, Rory. It was indeed a sad passing into history. It was probably in the early 1950's that the last veterans of the NP passed on, and it is now their medals that most often bring back memories of them. I expect to see another report on the NP from you soon.
