The section on this unit states: "The Scottish Cyclist Company was raised in South Africa."

Where does that info come from?

Thanks

Meurig,

The SCC were raised from men from across Scotland and were a volunteer unit. Their entry has been updated and corrected. angloboerwar.com/unit-information/imperi...tish-cyclist-company

That you for raising the question.

Kind regards
David

Good Morning Meurig and David......

I have a medal to what was called English Composite Cyclist Corps...... He was a member of the Worcestershire Regiment but served in this unit the weird thing is that he was given a new regimental number for the Cyclist Corps. His medal is impressed with the number from the ECCC yet the unit is still impressed as The Worcestershire Regiment..... I could not find him anywhere until I found out about the ECCC..... I have a list of the members somewhere I will have to find it.....

Good Morning all: In my first QSA Collection ( mid 1950's to 1989 ) I had the Corp. John Linton QSA and Selkirk Tribute Medal. QSA to Scottish C. C? And Tribute to I Company Border Rifles. Way back then with the limited research methods available to me from the US I did not learn too much. Now days with the Forum and Internet I sadly learn that I should have kept the collection intact. FYI the Group was dug out in Scotland by Stan Paget and yours truly. I forget the year. I still have Hibbard's Letter expressing excitement. Thanks to all of you for this Subject, Baden Powell/James Suchma
