A commemoration, I think, rather than a memorial. I did an online search, and Pretoria Terrace gets a mention in this article on Wales and the South African War (not Anglo-Boer War in Wales!). www.walesonline.co.uk/lifestyle/nostalgi...ris-roadside-3875512

A commemoration indeed.

I enjoyed the article and the Professor's plea not to use "Anglo" to refer to the Welsh, I suppose we should use "British-Boer War" instead. Although historically the British or Britons are Celtic and the Anglos (Angles) are English. It's a complicated world.

A great set of photos, Berenice and yes, I hadn't given much thought to the 'Anglo' prefix before.

I stand to be corrected, but I think the Boers and their descendants referred to the ABW as "die Engelse Oorlog", which also took no account of the Welsh, Irish and Scots.
