Good Morning Frank......

Yes Drummer.......

There are two Edward Kelly's on the medal roll....... The enlistment documents have disappeared into the mists of time (at least I cannot find them) so I cannot tell which is which....

There was a full band sent with the unit I have counted 27 bandsmen.......

Hello Mike,
I recently acquired a SAC medal to 2150 3cl Tpr DJ Donnelly, pg 328 of ' No Colours, No Drums ' sadly the medal has no bar.
Is this correct or should there be bar/s? Would he be entitled to a KSA?
I 'd appreciate your reply.
regards Evyn

Good Morning Evyn.........

Of all the SAC medals that I have less than 10% have a KSA..... Most of the Canadian KSA's went to men who had served in other Canadian units..... I did a quick check and it seems that Donnelly only served in the SAC..... He was most likely joined up in the big across Canada push for recruits in 1901......The majority of these men rec'd the Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 and 1902 on their QSA's.....
