Hello I am researching some relatives involved in the boer war, namely Edmund Wilkinson of LOYAL NORTH LANCASHIRE REGIMENT. He was besieged in Kimberley for 4 months was was presented with the Kimberley Star. I'd like to find out more about him and this conflict

Welcome! I think you have come to the right place!

There is an account of the LNLR regiment here: angloboerwar.com/unit-information/imperi...-lancashire-regiment

and several books on the siege here: angloboerwar.com/books

Colour Sergeant Wilkinson received a 3 clasp QSA, 2 clasp KSA, MID 4 Sep 01 and was awarded the DCM LG 27 Sep 01.

With a rank like Lt & QM, he could have been promoted from the ranks.

What information do you have on him?
