I wonder if Steve Sewell would be interested in knowing about the QSA (Natal, SA '01) awarded to Inspector F H Sewell, Paymaster of the Natal Police? Inspector Sewell was the son of General Sir William Sewell, a veteran of the Napoleonic Wars (MGS Medal with 10 clasps) and 28 years service in India, and whose elder son was General Fane Sewell of the Hyderabad Contingent.

Inspector Sewell may literally have paled into insignificance compared to his father and brother, since he was once described as follows:
"Paymaster Sewell was a different type, distinctly of the clerical branch, his face untanned and showing pale by contrast with the sunburnt and weather beaten faces around.".

Regards
Brett

If I did find them, I would be unable to afford them!
