The details of the two men -
Births Jun 1880 BLACKLEY Thomas Preston 8e 613
Born 3rd may 1880 at 12 Gardner Street, Preston, Lancashire - the son of Joseph Blackley (Overlocker in Cotton Mill) and Mary Jane Blackley nee Parkinson.

Births Mar 1881 BLACKLEY Thomas Preston 8e 607
Born 13 feb, 1881 at 11 Maynard Street, Preston, Lancashire - son of John Blackley, (Brick Maker) and Isabella Blackley nee Blackburn

Out of curiosity I Googled the addresses....they lived 5 minutes apart from each other!

I wonder if John and Joseph Blackley were not related, possibly brothers?

Following on - John (who married Isabella) John gave his birthplace as Inglewhite in 1891. There was a baptism in 1839 for John Blackley in Whitechapel Bishop's Transcripts

16th June 1839
John, illegitimate son of Alice Blackley
Abode - Inglewhite

Thomas and Isabella named their first daughter Alice Ann
16 6
So perhaps there is a connection between Alice and the family of Joseph (father of the 2nd Thomas) but I can't find it!
