Hello,

Here is a second type QSA medal awarded to W.G.Penn 5th {Royal Irish} Lancers.
W.G.Penn was wounded at Standerton 9feb 1901

Lovely medal Silvien and great pictures too.

There are service papers available for William George. He was from Deddington, Banburgh, Oxfordshire, England.

The rolls confirm these clasps and the issue of a KSA (2).

Would be great to reunite this set with the KSA.It should be no problem i quess to find a plain KSA with the bars
I,m also luckely to have some members willing to help getting scans of his record.

Not that easy to reunite KSA with QSA..... There are some pairs I have been looking to reunite for 40 years.....

That has always been an issue, of course, Penn's KSA might not even be extant today.

That is a very pleasing example, it is interesting to note that Penn had spent over a full year on home service, before joining his regiment for foreign service, whilst he had missed out on duty in India, simply because of his enlistment, he did join them in South Africa, although, that particular clasp combination is usually encountered with their reservists, who were recalled for the Anglo Boer War, notwithstanding, a very nice medal.
