Thanks Frank. When looking at where a man was bought up and the regiment he joined some most of thought they had gone to another planet, the most curious I have is a Brummie who served with the Seaforth Highlanders (POW Magersfontein) - when did he realise he would have to wear a kilt?

Yes, indeed it never ceases to amaze me, although, cockney's seemed to get everywhere, nothing wrong with that and I suppose I should really not be at all surprised.
