Earlier today there was a ceremony at the Cenotaph in Dundee to mark the 100th anniversary of the 4 day battle of Delville Wood on the Somme.

315 men from the Dundee area went off to war in 1914. 89 of the 315 perished of which nine died at Delville Wood.

A combined Moth, Tourism Dundee and Talana Museum initiative witnessed a grand wreath laying parade at the Dundee Cenotaph

I was able to lay a wreath in memory of those who died in the Anglo Boer wars. Many wreaths were laid including those to horses and other animals who lost their lives, the police and representatives of the local schools.

Afterwards there was a reception hosted by the MOTHs.
