p1 John Hays Hammond has left Johannesburg for Rhodesia on a 3 week visit.

The Gascon arrived from England Sunday had on board 513 officers and men made up of the following:

1/Rifles – 160 men

Leicester – 125 men

Dublin Fusiliers – 85 men

10/Hussars – 39 men

FA – 36 men

5/Lancers – 26 men

ASC – the remainder

 

The Gaul is embarking, in England 200 troops (relief drafts) on Saturday.
