A cracking memorial.

Leonard was in a volunteer battalion of the KOYLI and served two tours, once as #7527 and secondly as #7691. This is how he came earn a KSA as a volunteer battalion man. He earned the clasps Wittebergen, CC & T on the QSA.

Another for my ABW Vets on the Somme list.

I take it the statue has been the subject of restoration at some point.

The four plaques appear to my eye to be made from bronze resin; the originals may have been stolen. The railings around the memorial certainly look to be a recent addition.

From the photographs, I would have said the "business" end of the rifle his been restored?
