I have attached a photo of a relative known as Tommy bust we know no other details apart from the photo of him in his uniform,
I have tried to identify the uniform from other website with no success.
I would appreciate it if someone could give us some assistance here.
A number unusual aspects about the uniform:
1. the head gear
2. no front pockets
3. it would appear a horse solider uniform
4. Boots look rather different
Any assistance her would be of great assistance eg date, regiment etc

RSW,

That's an interesting picture.

It could possibly be a QSA and KSA under the bandolier but there is too little to confirm this.

The Webley is the Mk III or Mk IV Model. Both produced in the period and issued to the troops as the standard issue sidearm. Per W C Dowell in "The Webley Story". Certainly it ties to the War. Without checking thru dozens and dozens of photos, the uniform would appear to be "local". The lanyard is correct but the strange leather fitting behind his left shoulder looks like that is an attachment for a waist belt. So is the bandolier on backwards ?

Without checking thru dozens and dozens of photos, the uniform would appear to be "local".

I agree a Local Unit and the feathers over the hat look like the ones worn by SAC......
