As a collector of Rifle Association QSAs, if I didnt have one to a particular Association, I should be delighted to have an example whatever the condition. With RA QSAs one doesnt really have the luxury of being too choosy - there are so few of them about.
Just to put it out there _ I am still looking for examples to the Weston RA and the Karkloof RA .

I notice British Medals (Rennie Alcock) has two no clasp QSAs to Rifle Associations currently for sale.

1) Tpr. E. Oldfield, Wilgefontein RA. Claims only 18 medals to unit. £270.

2) Tpr. R.J. Lund, Malton RA. Claims only 21 medals to unit. £230.

The above is only for information for those who may be interested in RA medals. I have no connection with the company.

Thank you, David.

What are your thoughts on the fixed suspender on Lund's medal (in an earlier post of this thread)?

Hi David

The suspender on Lund's medal looks to me like it's not the original.

I haven't got any Rifle Association QSAs but was half tempted to bid for the Nottingham Road example in the recent DNW auction for no other reason than I once stopped there to fill up my car on the way from Durban to Ladysmith! In the end, though, I didn't bother.

I think that is a very fair point, well made, I would think anyone who collects medals to members of the Rifle Associations would simply want an example to a member of a particular RA if it was missing from their collection, the numbers involved are so small, that I dare say someone would want Lund's medal, but, not me!

David,

That's a great new reason for collection to a unit!

From what Mike has been saying over the years, assembling a complete collection of Rifle Association medals is a long term endeavour.
