Hello Mike,

I remember this QSA from a recent auction here in SA. Roach was part of the CP District 2 Staff. Sadly there are no papers for him in Cape Town.

His QSA entry is on the roll for the Commissioner CP Dist 2 WO100\240 page 289. The remarks column states" if not Pte in number 1 Corp KingWilliams Town T.G"

I also believe that in 1906 he transferred to Pretoria and became the resident Magistrate. This still needs to be confirmed.

Hope this helps.

Whilst browsing for something else, I came across this picture of Capt Wooler of the Cape Police. The Leeds Mercury (Leeds, England), Saturday, April 21, 1900

Adrian,

It was pure serendipity that I came across both his picture and his letter in the same afternoon. I thought you would appreciate the information.

I see from the medal roll that, like many of the men on the CP DI roll he received the CC and OFS clasps. Its sounds like they were well earned!

Best wishes
David
