Thank you so much for answering so promptly.
My grandfather's full name was Albert Edward Stoneham. His year of birth was 1881 and he lived in London as of 1911 - I am not sure if he was in London prior to that.
I understood that he was injured in the Boer War - that was what I was told by both grandparents and my Mum and Dad when I was growing up.
Any added information would be lovely.
Thanks again.

Earlier I had a look in the published casualty roll for the Boer War and I did not find any entry for an "A.Stoneham". We do get frequent requests similar to yours - and it really helps if information such as Branch of Service or Regimental number can be supplied. It is realised, of course, that often details are not known. And family memories can be faulty.
If you have access to any of the commercial sites, perhaps you might try there.
Again, good luck
Regards
IL.

Certainly not Anglo Boer War, there was a 88107 Gunner (Sergeant during WW1) Albert E Stoneham who served in the RFA and RGA, during the Great War, whilst the collars are marked RHA, I assume this is grandfather, the "RC" is Roman Catholic.

Thank you for any help.

Hello Pat

First place to check is FindmyPast for service papers - Ancestry have them too, but I prefer FmPs index.

I could not see an "A(E) Stoneham" in the indexed medal rolls for the Anglo-Boer War on Ancestry.
