WOUNDED IN SOUTH AFRICA.
An inquiry has been held at Southwark concerning the death of Edward Nockall, thirty-eight, a general labourer, who was admitted to Guy's Hospital on April 29th suffering from the effects of a bullet wound received in South Africa. The wound, which had healed, had reopened, and blood poisoning followed. He died from asphyxia when suffering from lockjaw. The jury returned a verdict accordingly. Deceased was in the Duke of Cambridge's Own Regiment.
Rhyl Record and Advertiser, Saturday 14th May 1904

He's listed in this site's name search as 1168 Corporal E. Nockall. Buried somewhere in the London area, presumably, but where?

I have been unable to find any burial records on Ancestry or Findmypast.

I can, however, tell you he was born in Norfolk, parents Jonathan and Elizabeth, and initially enlisted in the 1st Norfolk in 1885, discharged 1897. Subsequently re-enlisted in 1898, serving until 1902. He does appear in the 1901 Census visiting an address in Willesden, and is employed as a Road Labourer - Tar Paver. Further records show he married Janet Spinks in 1902.

Shepton Mallet Journal 13 May 1904 - gives his address as 9 Ponsard Rd, Willesden.

No trace in the casualty rolls or The Times - gilding the lilly, or an accident and not reported?

As he was a labourer, possibly buried in an un-marked pauper's grave?

Thanks to Brent Council, I now know exactly where he was interred in Willesden New Cemetery. The grave had no permanent memorial or headstone at the time, maybe a wooden cross?, and a later burial is now above his. If/when I'm down that way, a small remembrance cross will be left at his grave.

Section L - his grave number is 342, but the grave over his is number 36.

Well done Berenice, that is very efficient of the council.

A pauper's grave and re-used - there is no dignity. But your gesture will make amends.
