Hello Peter,

I downloaded William Lovell's army service records from FindmyPast and page 9 gives his medal details which I quoted. An image of the page is attached below

Thanks for that.

My reference for information I quoted is
search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=GBM/WO...GBM/WO97/5364/939304
On my PC I get 8 pages. Your 1st image on your OP is my page 8.
The relevant section of my page 4 is below.

There are more papers from WW1 at
search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=GBM/WO...363-4/7271912/74/668
but they have no relevant information, except that there is absence of any medallic award.

I’m not finding the image that you show in your last post. What is the reference for it ?

Peter

That clarifies the situation.

Your pages 8 & 9 relate to 3502 William Lovell born Yeovil Somerset in 1874 enlisting in the Dorsetshire Regiment in August 1892.
search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=gbm%2f...wo97%2f5364%2f939297
Yes, he served in South Africa and was awarded the medals noted.

BUT, he is not the same man as 95164 William Thomas Lovell of the Royal Field Artillery whose pages you have as 1 – 7.

Fairly well shaken and scruff of neck released.

Best

Peter

Thank you, Peter.
So it is merely an error on FindmyPast? The nine pages were all together when I opened the file.
Does that mean I am missing the real (correct) page 8?

My membership has since expired, so I can't assess the files any more....
