Thank you for both those corrections. I will make the necessary alterations.

Have you ever seen one of these medals? Although they are simply another QSA clasp error, I would like to add one to my ILH collection!

Brett

As it turned out, both McGreal and O'Hara went on to be awarded other clasps, so I have removed their names from the note. Thank you for the corrections.

Dear Brett

Thanks for your post around four years ago.

You mentioned that there is an August 2003 memoir of Tpr F A Freshney of the ILH which explains how he and a few others came to be issued with a QSA with the single clasp `Tugela Heights'.

I'm trying to trace a copy of the memoir and wondered if you could assist me in locating it.

Best regards

Peter

Hi Peter
Freshney and his medal have been discussed in other threads on this forum and in the the one below I gave the full reference for the publication about him.
angloboerwar.com/forum/17-memorials-and-...-horse-memorial#6613

I still have a photocopy of the paper, but it is packed away and not readily accessible. This copy was made at the Library of the Ditsong National Museum of Military History, and it might be quicker for you to get a copy there than for me to retrieve and copy mine. Please send me a Private Message to tell me which course you want to follow.

Brett
