Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)
EykynCecilCaptainHe died February 8th, 1900, of wounds received in action at Koodoosberg on the previous day. He was a son of Thomas Eykyn of 47 Hyde Park Gate, was born June 1867, and educated at Harrow. He entered the Royal Highlanders from the 3rd Battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry July 1889, being promoted Lieutenant January 1891, and Captain November 1898. He had served with his battalion in the Kimberley Relief Column, and was present at the battle of Magersfontein.
