He was the eldest son of Byam Martin Davies of Corsley House, Warminster, Wilts, and Waltham Place, Maidenhead. Lieutenant Davies was 23 years of age, and educated at Eton. He joined his regiment March 1900, being promoted Lieutenant in the following July.
