QSA (4) Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1902 (Tpr: D. Fletcher. Canadian: Scouts)

David Fletcher was born in Whitehaven, Cumberland, c 1877. Enlisted in the Canadian Scouts in Durban, 4 February 1902. Age 25. Height 5'4.5". Fair complexion, blue eyes and fair hair. Worked as a stockman. Next of Kin: Father, 33 York Street, Barrow in Furness, Lancashire. Discharged 30 June 1902

His 4 clasp medal was issued 24 April 1906. His clasps are verified on the rolls.

The QSA to 155 Tpr: J.McCormack sold this morning for a hammer price of Au$550. Totals: £357. R7,300. Au$670. Can$620. US$500

The QSA to Trooper Fletcher sold yesterday for a hammer price of £220. Totals (inc VAT for UK only): £283. R5,400. Au$510. Can$470. US$380 which is reasonable given his short service in the Canadian Scouts.

GOOD EVENING GENTLEMEN......

I Have decided to take on the project of compiling a list of all the existing Queen's South Africa Medals either in singles or in groups named to.....

THE CANADIAN SCOUTS

I would ask the assistance of all members of the forum if they can provide me with the following information.....

1. Name, Rank and Regimental Number (Note: Some medals were issued without a Number).

2. Style of Name Unitt: CAN. SCOUTS, CANAD'N SCOUTS, CANADIAN SCOUTS

3. Bars on the medal.

4. If part of a Group the other medals in the group.

5. Country of Location. I do not want any personal information just Country.

All information will be kept confidential and I may possibly be able to pass on some information to you......
