I would very much like to understand the explanation for that hammer price.

Sold for a hammer price of GBP 1,900. Totals: GBP 2,447. R 54,620. AUD 4,550. NZD 4,860. CAD 3,930. USD 2,870. EUR 2,730

Possibly a collectors reunite, KIA in 1918 with the 6th Bn. This information was not listed in the sale, that said, there still needed to be 2 bidders.

CWGC lists Pte 5831 John Dennehey 6th bn KiA 1918 age 22. Is the age wrong on CWGC?

That's a different John Dennehy. The one at Noonans died in 1947 per his PIN 71 file entry.
