Good Morning Everyone.......

I laid awake last night tossing and turning and trying to figure out how I could photograph my lantern slides...... LOL :P

No really I was thinking about this after hearing about the light box idea......

I took a piece of Foam Core board and cut out the exact size of the slide...... Mounted it in a window and then took a picture...... Tweaked it a bit and this is what I came up with.......

I have a slide projector but need to have some repairs done to it, that's my winter project.....

OK QSAMIKE
Since I seem to have brought up the issue I will be forced to drop all else and work to copy my boxes of lantern slides. If successful I promise to try to post some.

Well done Mike on your (sun)light box - wouldn't work in England!

The slides really do photograph well - stirring images.

Is the slide of the artillery in the same series as that of Buller meeting Dundonald? If so then it looks more like rescuing the guns at Colenso.

The artillery and the Dundonald / White one is from a set of 45 put out by The London Illustrated News.......

Will be in Ireland for 5 weeks in the fall and it better be good weather......

Hope to get over to that other country that is not European for the convention now that the Pound has really fallen.......
