I recently bought an Afghan Medal 1880 clasp Peiwar Kotal to 1019 Pte R.Getcliffe 2/8 Regt- a spur of the moment purchase as the item was in danger of being sold very cheap at the auction I was attending-a very rare event. A very good membero f the medals forum sent me 10 pages of service papers including his South Africa service and somebody else produced all the medal rolls. Does anybody have this medal or has there ever been a sighting of it?

I have just had a very close read of the paperwork I was supplied -his name is Getliffe when ha enlisted in 1876-his Boer War paperwork gives his number as 1525 and spells his surname as Getcliffe.
