Earlier today, I disabled a newly-added component and for the last 5 hours there have been no spikes. It would be nice if this was the errant element that I have been searching for.

I'm afraid I'm having problems logging on again. I have to log on afresh each time I come on to the site, as the log-on isn't being remembered, and when I've looked at a topic and go back to 'recent topics' my log on ceases and I get an error message about submitting to an obsolete form and bring required to verify my identity again.

Any ideas?

I have been altering the caching settings on the site for the last few days so this might have affected your use of the site. I think I am there with the cache settings now so if you have any continuing problems, please let me know.
