All,
Only been on the forum a few weeks but no stranger to medals, I did mention in my introduction that the KOSB have a couple of Boer War Tribute medals (see photos below).

The first is to 7039 Private Archibald Martin from Duns and was a member of the Berwickshire Section, the second is to 6968 Private Alexander Loudon from Annan and was a member of the Dumfriesshire section and died of enteric fever at Pretoria on the 2nd July 1900.

Both were members of the First Active Service Vol Coy who served with the 1st Bn. Medals are 9ct Gold

I note that there is a member on the Forum who has Loudon's QSA.

Regards
Gerry

Thank you Gerry.

I have updated the respective tribute medal pages to show these as known examples. It is good to know that the Dumfries medal was given to the families of those who died in South Africa. This is new information.
