This officers QSA to the Durban Light Infantry joined the collection today. Captain (Lt. on the medal) Robert Harold Alcock was the OC of A Company and, after the Natal Field Force volunteers were stood down in October 1900, he joined the newly formed Natal Mounted Infantry as a Captain. This is his full entitlement - unlike other officers, he did not participate in the 1906 Bambatha Rebellion, having resigned in 1903.

He is in good company, I also have the QSA to Lt. James Hood - both can be seen in the two accompanying photos which come from the regiment's official history.
