I have just been notified by another forum member of the sale of a DOK and Kimberley star pair to Sergeant-Farrier G. Needham, Diamond Fields Artillery at the Spink sale in November 2022. I have his CGHGSM, Colonial Auxillary Forces LSM and NAMED Kimberley Star and would very much like to discuss a possible reunite with his QSA. If you were the buyer or know who was please PM me.

Spink say 'G. Needham is confirmed on the Medal Roll with entitlement to these two clasps, and was the only Farrier-Sergeant in the Battery. During the Defence of Kimberley, the Diamond Fields Artillery comprised some 97 men and six guns; originally entirely outranged by more modern Boer artillery pieces, they later manned the famous 4.1-inch 'Long Cecil' which enabled the defenders to return effective fire against their foe.'
