I've been through a few copies of the Burnley Express, from December 1899, and have found pen and ink sketches, with personal information, of 16 rank and file soldiers and sailors. I've edited them the best I can, and can add them here, as required, or send them to anyone who would like them.

Howells, 2nd Shropshire Light Infantry
Fetch, 2nd Coldstream Guards
Stephenson, 1st Coldstream Guards
Arthur Philip Willis, Naval Brigade H.M.S. Philomel
Private J. Chippendale, West Yorkshire Regiment
Private Joe Gavin, King's Royal Rifles
Private Alexander Hodgson, 2nd Coldstream Guards
Private Henry Bowman, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders KIA
Sergeant Cornelius Chas. Hodgson, The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment
Private E. J. Heyworth, 2nd West Yorkshire Regiment
Private William Thomas Booth, 1st Coldstream Guards
Sergeant James Arthur Holmes, Lancashire Fusiliers KIA
Lance-Sergeant McWhinney, 2nd Lancashire Fusiliers & Mounted Infantry
Private John Leyburn, 4th King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment) Died of fever
Private Robert Butterworth, 1st Border Regiment Died of fever
Private Thomas Jarvis, Royal Army Medical Corps

If I find more sketches, I'll add the names here.
