Hello,
I've been trying without much success to trace the military career of my G/Grandfather, Cornelius J O'Callaghan, Cpl, #2988. He died in Castlebar, Ireland. 1958. He served in the 2nd Boer war but as far as family lore tells, he was born in India, to a military Father, I'm having trouble confirming this however. His Fathers name may have been James. Where would I began to look for British India service records ?. Cornelius's son Michael enlisted in 1916, died in 1918 and is buried at Haringhe, Belgium. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
