It looks like there were 5 Brentnalls in the Boer War:

A J Brentnall 104th Derby Squadron Imperial Yeomanry
G W Brentnall Coldstream Guards
H Brentnall 2nd Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment
W Brentnall 3rd Battalion Grenadier Guards

Best wishes

William Brentnall, a twenty three year old labourer from Salford Manchester joined the Manchester's in 1892, after two years serving with the 1st Battalion he subsequently transferred to their 2nd Battalion, before his transfer to the Army Reserve on the 18th of May 1899, recalled to the colours for the Anglo Boer War on the 12th of November 1899, he was posted to the 1st Battalion, interestingly, he was attached to a bearer company for the opening months of the war, so was not present at Ladysmith during their magnificent defence of Ceasar's Camp and Manchester Fort.
Brought before a Field General Courts Marshal on the 24th of April 1902, for using foul language on the 13th of that month, he was found guilty and sentenced to 7 days Field Imprisonment Number 1, before returning home to their soon to be very famous depot, "Ladysmith" Barracks in Aston under Lyne on the 10th of September 1902, demobilized the following day, granted a very pleasing furlough of some 238 days, he was finally discharged on the 17th of May 1904.

Oh that's alright, when it comes to any of Curran's boys, I simply can't help myself, a bit like a certain Mr CJ Rhodes who always seemed to need an excuse!
"I need an excuse, just give me an excuse" :woohoo:
