The prices do not seem to come down and I think Wepener has always been quite expensive when compared with other clasps, but, this group can not be described as a bargain! :(

I understand that the cost of groups that contain a MC or MM and a QSA have gone through the roof...... As per the latest DNW auction they exceeded their estimates......

A number of years ago I purchased a BW DCM group from him and I thought it was quite reasonable a lot less than the one that is on ebay right now.....

Also the QSA does have a Wepener Bar and I am sure there is a bit of a bonus there....

It has been enjoyable over Christmas to go back through old catalogues searching for Wepener clasps. So far 429 of 1957 have been found which equates to nearly 22%.

I have been through almost all of my catalogues so this number is not expected to grow significantly.

This is how Wepener compares to the other clasps (at the time the roll was published).

It seems a long time ago now that I started this thread but I am pleased to say that the Wepener book is now complete and ready to be sent to the publishers. It has been a joint effort with my son. Alexander, and supported by many people from this forum, other forums and museums in several countries who have contributed to it.

I hope it will be a fitting memory for all those engaged in this conflict and of some assistance to anyone researching Wepener or the medals associated with it.

The original plan was to launch the book in September but a lot has happened since then so we will see.

For now, its less WO100/237 and more /263.
