I was wondering if anyone who has access to Ancestry can look up a name for me please......

1041 Trooper J. G. Dupreez ( or du Preez ) Midland Mounted Rifles

It has the single bar Cape Colony and is a late issue possibly post WW! as the naming style is the small W.W. 1 style......

That may be more difficult than you imagine.

He is likely listed on page 19 or 20 of the MMR roll, WO100/259.

These two pages are missing from the Ancestry version and when you look at the roll, you can see why. Here is part of page 19 that perhaps lists Du Preez?



Page 20 is even worse.

This may be another candidate for access to the original roll or sourcing the information from a copy of the roll not held by TNA.

In the 1980's, before the Internet days, I spent some thousands of pounds to get A-3 hard copies from the PRO.
They sent me separate "jiggled" copies of these two illegible MMR pages
