Rory,

The attached photo is from the DLI HQ. I have a high res copy of this which will be featured in our book that is due out hopefully before year end. It shows all the men in their respective company's.

Riches in "C" Company was the chap who's group I featured recently. He was not involved in the incident as far as records and lists at the DLI HQ and Museum show.

Does the DLI HQ still have papers Adrian? I was under the impression that most of their personnel files etc. were destroyed in a fire several decades ago.

I once tried to research my late Grandfather, Albert Percy Rapson (RFC) who had served with them for a while. It was a fruitless exercise.

Rory,

Yes, much was destroyed during the fire. But when we were there two weeks ago the Adj showed us through the store room, which was pilled high with boxes and photo's. They believe that papers, muster rolls and pay records are amongst all this. So we will have a good dig through in November when we are back there.

The good news is that there are many, many medal groups securely stored in cabinets and that these are still well looked after.

Don't forget not all of C company was on the train, so a company roll won't really help. And, I am sure men moved companies for all sorts of reasons, but I am just a "doubting Thomas".

Quite right Meurig,

Apparently only half the Company were involved.
