QSAs to RN ships, sorted by the percentage of medals awarded to each ship. For example, 12 distinct QSAs to HMS Beagle have been sold, 10% of the 127 awarded.

These figures are a guide only as there is a small amount of duplication in the data (caused where an item has re-appeared for sale and where the surname has been omitted from the QSA listing, a feature in the early catalogues by DNW)

Like the RN graph David. A survival rate (by DNW sales) of ~5%?

Saurin & HMS Diadem/Ophir: I wasn't aware Ophir qualified for the QSA at all. From the list of ships he served in during the ABW none qualified, so is the medal bogus but genuine issue?

The plot for Town Guards. The variation in the plot comes from the fact that Town Guards are association with Namaqualand, Dundee, Kimberley and Mafeking.

The 1996 TG entry was the Defence of Mafeking group of seven awarded to Fort Commander and later Lieutenant Colonel J. W. de Kock, Mafeking Town Guard.

A very different picture for the District Mounted Troop QSAs.

The one outlier is the group to Trooper J J Sweetnam, Winterberg Greys and Adelaide DMT from 2001 comprising:

SAGS (1) 1878 (Tpr., Winterberg Greys Vols.);
CGHGSM (1) Basutoland (Tpr., Winterbg. Gys.);
QSA (0) (Tpr., Adelaide D.M.T.)
