Rundle's Colonial Scouts was a Class C SAMIF regiment raised in Queenstown upon the 13th of July 1900.

The medal that you have shown is impressed this one is engraved..... It does not have the usual signs of being renamed and example the edge is not thinner where the previous name has been removed...…

The naming is: 6140 Serjt. J. Maclaren, R.C. - Clasps OFS/JOH/SA01

Is this possibly 6140 Sgt John McLaren, RE?

He earned QSA (4) CC Joh OFS SA01 with the 1st Lanark RE volunteers.

That would explain the engraved style too.

I think upon seeing the photographs it can only be that recipient, certainly not a member of Rundle's Scouts.
