Could the entry above Fort George be St Lucia?
Still trying to find troop details on SS Montrose...apparently it made 8 trips from Liverpool to SA. Is it possible that your relation was escorting Boer prisoners of war? I think SS Montrose may have been used as a transport ship of POWs......Just checked out the dates again.
Montrose was used but the dates do not match the paper work, also it shipped POWs to Bermuda.
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
Best regards,
Dave

Thanks.
I thought the last listing looked like Jubling but have just discovered through a Record of Deceased Soldiers Effects that it is in fact Dublin! My relative appears to have died on 09/07/1906. I wonder why he was in Ireland and not on the mainland U.K.? Was there a British military hospital in Dublin? See attachment.

Ireland was, in effect, mainland UK in 1906.

Couldn't find exact hospital in Dublin pertaining to Boer War casualties but during the Great War there were approximately 22 Hospital facilities in Dublin that were utilised during WW1. There is a good chance one of them may have been your relations hospital.
The list is on the Long Long Trail web site.
Best regards
