I had several great uncles that were surprised on the family farm outside Steynsburg by the 17th. One uncle shot, two tried for treason, one was hanged later and the one survived after being a PoW. Happened on the farm Kalkoenkrans owned by Kruger family. My grandfather (DW Kruger) wrote the story down luckily. I want to try to piece together the movements of the 17th and curious if you found out much.
