Here are a few pictures to illustrate some of the above:

Intombi - the evolution of a Boer War cemetery.




Shortly after the lifting of the siege of Ladysmith.

It has happened a lot that wrong initials have been put on gravestones during the ABW.

Wow.... the power of the forum at its best.

I go away for a few days and when I return

1. Pte William Taylor has a MID.

Would this be for his overall conduct or something specific..... it was 4 months after his death?

2. A photo of his gravestone.

More than I could expect in a graveyard that has not survived the effects of time too well

Thanks to all you took their own time and effort on this 'Silly Question'........ perhaps not so silly after all!!
