With reference to G Sidwill.
I think clarification is required on the surname.
18073 Imperial Yeomanry in my humble opinion refers to a George John Frederick Lidwill. Born circa 1870 in Tipperary Ireland.

Looking into these leads this morning it shows that I misread this surname when it was first transcribed. Rather than Sidwill, it should be Lidwill

This from the BSAP roll:

The KSA roll entry for G T Lidwill of the IY does connect that man to service in the BSAP

That has been really helpful. Thank you very much

The information on George Lidwell/Lidwill has uncovered service in Mashonaland in 1896, service with the IY after Mafeking and also in the Natal 1906 Rebellion. All this from changing one letter of his surname from a S to a L.

Many thanks
David
