Phil
In Perthshire is the info: Tpr. Neish, George J, (St. Fillans).
Enlisted 1900. Served in South African war,1900. (Queens medal with clasps "Cape Colony" and "Transvaal"). Died of wounds at Johannesburg, December 17, 1900.
NB, Perthshire contains a very small portrait of Neish; may not be able to do much with it. Will have a try.

Hello Phil more or less confirming what the others have said. George J Neish died of wounds 17/12/1900 in Johannesburg and he is buried in Braamfontein cemetery. His name appears on two memorials Braamfontein/Otago & Ranfurly NZ. His death was announced in the War Office casualty list in the Daily Express 5/1/1901.
