Hello All -

I have posted this in the comment block under Rhodesian Volunteers, but I'll put it here too. (Remeber I am classified "Fresh Recruit", so I am feeling my way around here still - :) )

I have managed to purchase a QSA / WWI trio to Alfred Harry Wallis. His QSA is named Capt AH Wallis, Southern Rhodesian Volunteers. His 1914-15 Star to Capt S.A.E.C, and his BWM & VM to Lieut. I have his MIC and his WWI service is confirmed. Any info on his Boer War service would be very much appreciated.
best regards
Thomas

Hello Thomas,

Find my Past has service papers available to one Alfred Henry Wallis of the Southern Rhodesia Vols. I believe this to be the same man. He was born in 1888 in Derby and his papers are in the WO 96 Militia series.

Thank you for your reply Adrian. I found Wallis on the birth register, but I am struggling to find his millitary records - I keep getting referred to a Albert Edward rather than Albert Henry. Edward is in WO96 and born in 1888, but in Middlesex.

Any help here?

regards
Thomas

Thomas,

Glad to have been of some help. A very nice Boer War/WW1 Group you secured.

I also just recently acquired a QSA to the Southern Rhodesia Vols so had to pass on this fine group. Glad that it has gone to a good home.

Well done.
