South African War , Honours and Awards 1899-1902. 1st published in 1903. My copy the facsimile edition published by Greenhill Books in 1987 is what you are looking for.

The book has been on my desk for the past week and I have been meaning to ask if anyone has any reference to how the despatches were processed and if there are any citations that may not have got to the final despatch. I have been trying to trace the process with great disappointment. I did manage to find the evolution of Dost Mohammed Khan's IOM but that was all.
Looking for Salutries, Salootries and Veterinary Duffadars.
I collect primarily QSAs to Indian Recipients.

Sorry No ISBN......

The book that David mentions may be your book, I have them both, the Maloyd book is good because it is alphabetical by unit so therefore there is not as much searching.....

This looks great, but the one I remember had pages of dates and then the MID was in order of officers and then other ranks in regiment order, but as I say, this looks excellent, thanks. I just need to find one now:)

Did it have an ISBN?

Yes, far easier to search as you say. I do remember the other one and the thrill of finding the unit or sometimes the man, mentioned in amongst all that writing!

I, like Doug, remember the thrill of finding a men buried deep in the regimental listings of the SA Honours and Awards. I do though prefer the modern facilities for research!

Is there a process that can be followed to find out how, why or when the mid was earned?
