Hello Frank,
It was really good to attend the fair today after a long absence.
Some nice medals on show today, but I am trying to be more selective with my purchases due to a restricted budget.
I picked up some nice items for not much money which I will add in another post (just got back)

Cheers
Paul :)

Frank,

Nothing really too much to get excited over really.
I picked up Hayward,s casualty lists, the two volumes from the 80's for not much money.
Although I have access to these online I have always wanted the hard copies to look through for reference.
A couple of books, one being Steevens Capetown to Ladysmith which is now my second copy but for £2 it had to be purchased!
Another acquisition which I have seen but not in the flesh was a Silver leaf memento from Capetown. The leaves are in good condition and have some nice descriptions on them (will post a pic when I can)
I was browsing through the casualty books last night and until you actually see the amount of casualties on hard copy its hard to imagine the amount sustained.

Paul

Hello Paul,
The published rolls are worth having, notwithstanding the error and omission, simply because they allow you to see what was happening to a particular regt/corps on a particular day in question.
So no medals then?
Regards Frank
