Can anyone help me find which regiment or troop the letters M.P.R.F.F Refer to: my grandfather served in 1901 & 1902 but I am unable to find any records?

All I have to work on is two Medals one QV & one Edward VII and the letters M.P.R.F.F could be something to do with the Police.

Hello Robert, welcome aboard!
I'm not familiar with the abbreviation M.P.R.F.F. However, R.F.F. was the abbreviation for Rhodesian Field Force during the AB War. M.P. might mean mounted police or something along those lines.

I see in your post in the other thread you say your grandfather has two medals. That sounds as if he may have got both the Queen's South Africa Medal (QSA) and King's South Africa Medal (KSA). If that is the case he would have started serving in 1899/1900 to qualify for the KSA. If he didn't get the KSA the other medal could be for gallantry, long service, coronation or some other campaign.

What was your grandfather's name? Also, his name, rank and possibly a number should be on the rim of the medals. His medals should also have clasps on the ribbon. If you could give us these details we'll check the medal rolls and see what we can find.

Yes he has both the Queen's QSA & King's KSA medals
his name like mine is ROBERT WALKER - Tpr 153 after M.P.R.F.F other marks after have been rubbed off?
on QSA he had RHODESIA & CAPE COLONY on the KSA he had SOUTH AFRICA 1901 & 1902.I understand he was a Policeman in Scotland(GLASGOW not sure when) and also after the BOER WAR he was in the STALYBRIDGE Police Force then went into the army for WWI.in M.M.P.

As far as I know he only had the Robert as on the Census of 1911 he listed just as Robert.

Are there naming details on the rim of the KSA? There are 26 R Walkers on the rolls and none of them seem to be Rhodesian Field Force. Could you take and post a photo of the naming/inscriptions on the rims of both the QSA and the KSA? We might be able to pick up something from that.
