Good Afternoon Everyone......

When it rains it pours......

I got a call this afternoon from my favorite antique store, the one that was using the magazines and news papers as wrappings, see my previous posting...... They said they had found some more items that I might be interested in obtaining.....

1 to 49 (50 pamphlets, duplicate #23) numbered volumes of “Cassells Illustrated History of the Boer War”. A picture of Volume 1 which is quite faded and a better one of Volume 6......

A copy of “Department of Militia and Defence, Dominion of Canada, Further Supplimentary Report, ORGANIZATION – EQUIPMENT – DESPATCH – SERVICE OF CANADIAN CONTINGENTS, The War in South Africa 1899-1902.

Leather belt and buckle..... Un-Named or marked..... Very Small Waist.....

Ammo Pouch, 50 Rounds, Un-Named or marked.......

Who knows whats next as they said they would keep looking......

Well done. Now that they know they've got a customer for them, they'll be looking out for ABW books and ephemera.

Well done Mike!
I wonder if the text in the weekly "Cassell's" is the same as in the bound version? Is the MI bandolier for .45" calibre rounds? The tubes look a bit big for .303".
Regards
IL.

Hi Ian....

I checked some of the pages against the bound book and they are the same..... The photos of the bandolier are with Boer period "303's" that I have......

Thanks for that. My mistake; the flattened bandolier tubes fooled me! They did make .45" M.I.bandoliers at one point - I saw one ages ago.
