Interestingly, this snippet suggests he was fatally kicked by a horse in France. I wonder if he returned to England from France and later died of his injuries? You mentioned he died of pneumonia, do you have any details regarding the accuracy of the article regarding the horse accident?

Reference his trip to Australia, he departed in December 1907 from Capetown S A.
I previously thought he went from London. However, the shipping document has Ralph joining the ship in Capetown for onward travel to Australia.
