Just finished 'Die Mauser Knal' by JF Van Wyk which is the memoirs of a 16 year old Penkop fighting with the Boers in the Western Transvaal and am currently busy with 'Fire in the sky by' by Owen Coetzer which is about the destruction of the Free State 1899-1902, after that I have acquired a 1941 first edition copy of ' Vir Vryheid En Vir Reg' By General JC Kemp. Needless to say being English speaking the Afrikaans books are challenging to read but happily my speed is improving :)

Recently, I have been enjoying a re-read of THE BOER WAR, by Thomas Packenham. To my mind, it is absolutely the best-researched, most thorough, account of the Anglo-Boer War.
