Monday, 6 November 1899

Usual day of shelling, and Mauser bullets flying round, the only casualty one native wounded.

B.P. says we may expect reinforcements here tomorrow night.

The enemy are hard at work making herring-bone trenches towards the town, in this manner they will be able to get pretty close without exposing themselves.
